Dear Alan,
1. In my opinon, this edge has minimal impact.
2. Even if there is an impact zone, I strongly believe the `impact' zone is approximately 2 feet from the edge.
3. If you do not move the bed slightly away, it is still OK. But if you want to, can move it further by a few inches (as shown in the attached illustration.
