Thank You in advance!

Our Problem: There is no way for us to position our bed in our new home where the head of the bead will not be against a wall with a window in it.

The layout: The room is rectangular (basically), with the east wall being closet doors (the bifold type), the west wall having an entrance (with no door) to a small hallway that leads to stairs on the north end and a door to the bathroom in the center of the west wall, and the north and south walls have windows of the same size (4 ft X 4ft) at about 2 1/2 feet off the floor. The ceiling is vaulted, with the peak running east west and approx 11 feet high.

Our Solutions: We will somehow create a false ceiling for our bed (whether it be fabric suspended from the ceiling or a 'poster' bed with a fabric 'roof', but we do not know how to position our bed around the windows. There is not room to set it diagonally in a corner, so it must go on a window wall. Should we use a bed with a very substantial headboard (ie - with thick, solid wood or metal) or should we put our bed directly on the floor (like a japanese tatami mat or futon).

Our Information: My husband, being born on Dec 1 1977, is a southwest; I, being born on March 29, 1976 am a south.

Of possible interest: there will be an overhead ceiling fan and light and the floor will be a woven seagrass carpet, we believe we will hang a curtain in the entryway to the room, but are not positive. I can email a layout if you are interested.

Thanks and Peace to you,

Beth
